WEST POINT, N.Y. – Senior
Mackenzie Creagh made a season-high 14 saves, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 14 Army West Point 17-6 at Michie Stadium. The Crusaders fall to 5-9 on the season and 3-4 in the Patriot League, while the Black Knights improve to 11-3 overall and 6-1 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was tied a 1-1 early on, before Army scored seven straight goals to take a commanding 8-1 lead.
• The Black Knights increased their advantage to 12-2 at halftime.
• Army's lead would stay in double figures throughout the second half, with the Black Knights eventually winning by 11 (17-6).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Senior
Racheli Levy-Smith totaled 15 draw controls and two caused turnovers on the day
• Junior
Tess Prunier finished the game with one goal and one assist, while junior
Kate Avitabile dished out three assists.
• Army was led by Allison Reilly with four goals and four assists.
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Saturday, April 18, when it plays host to No. 17 Loyola (Md.) in its Senior Day game at 12 p.m.
