WORCESTER, Mass.- Holy Cross track and field senior Liam Lyons and junior Joseph Mahon were named to Academic All-Patriot League team, the conference announced on Wednesday, Mar 4.

Lyons, an international studies and philosophy double major, earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.59 concluding the fall of his senior year. Lyons was named second team All-Patriot League after taking home the silver medal in the mile at the 2026 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships finishing with a time of 4:05.96. Lyons also helped set a new school record and take the bronze in the DMR, clocking in a time of 9:51.12. Lyons holds individual school records in the 1,000m, mile, and 3,000m.

Mahon, a computer science major, earned a 3.44 cumulative grade point average following the fall of his junior year. He was named the top point scorer of the meet at the 2026 Patriot League Championships and took home first and second team honors. His first medal of the weekend came on day one of competition where he took the silver in the 5,000m with a time of 14:05.24. On Sunday, Mar. 1 Mahon became the first Crusader in school history to win the gold in the 3,000m at the Patriot League Championships, doing so with a time of 8:06.74. Mahon owns the school record in the 5,000m (14:04.52).
