Men’s ice hockey continues Atlantic Hockey play with home-and-home set against Bentley

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to play a home-and-home set against Bentley on Friday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Hart Center Rink and Saturday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Bentley Arena.

Both games will be broadcast live on FloHockey, while Friday's game will be simulcast on NESN.

Friday's game is the Crusaders' Big Game Night. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a light-up bracelet courtesy of Pepsi, and all fans in attendance can enter a raffle for one of three 55" TVs.

THE CRUSADERS (12-12-2, 10-6-2 AHA):
  • Holy Cross finished a tough January stretch on a high note, shutting out Army on the second-to-last day of the month, 3-0.
  • Freshman Danick Leroux picked up his second shutout of his rookie season in the contest, moving him into second in Atlantic Hockey in the category.
  • Senior Matt DeBoer recorded his second two-goal game and fifth multi-point game of the season with his two goals in the contest.
  • DeBoer's 12 goals on the year are the fourth-most in Atlantic Hockey, while his .46 goals per game also ranks fourth. His six power play goals rank second in the league. DeBoer's three games with 3+ points this season is the most among Atlantic Hockey skaters.
  • Despite their January struggles, Holy Cross is currently second in points (219), points per game (8.42), assists (139), assists per game (5.35), and faceoff win percentage (.513), and third in goals for (80) and goals scored per game (3.08).
  • Junior Jack Stockfish was named a candidate for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award. Stockfish, who carries 22 points on nine goals and 13 assists into the weekend, sits in ninth in Atlantic Hockey in points.
  • Stockfish's 286 face-off wins this season sits in second in Atlantic Hockey and 11th in the nation, while his .586 success rate leads Atlantic Hockey.

SCOUTING BENTLEY (14-7-5, 12-2-4 AHA):
  • Bentley made the trip to Robert Morris last weekend, leaving Moon Township with four of a possible six points thanks to a 5-0 win on Friday and a 3-3 tie and shootout loss on Saturday.
  • Since Bentley and Holy Cross last met, the Falcons have gone 4-1-3 overall and 3-1-2 in conference play, picking up 12 of a possible 18 Atlantic Hockey standings points.
  • Bentley is led on offense by Jake Black (13-13-26), Michael Mesic (10-14-24), and Stephen Castagna (8-15-23). Netminder Lukas Swedin has backstopped 15 of the Falcons' 26 games this season, posting a 2.10 goals-against average and .924 save percentage.

ALL TIME SERIES:
  • Holy Cross holds the all-time series lead at 47-32-11.
  • Home ice has not been an advantage in recent meetings between the two squads, with the away team winning the last six decisions.
  • The two sides last met just over a month ago to open the second half of play on Jan. 2 and 3. On the second in Waltham, the two sides played to a 2-2 tie, with Bentley winning the ensuing shootout. On the third in Worcester, Holy Cross conceded the most goals they have in a single game since 2016, falling 8-3.
