PROVIDENCE, R.I. —  First and second place finishes by juniors Shannon Briseno and Bridget Sachs in the pole vault highlighted the day for the Holy Cross women's track and field team at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, Feb, 21.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS: 

• Briseno and Sachs claimed first and second place, respectively, in the pole vault after each cleared 3.70 meters, with Briseno earning the victory based on attempts.
• Freshman Elle Grant cleared a personal-best height of 1.56 meters in the high jump to place third overall at the meet.
• Junior Alyssa Peasley and senior Celia Kulis finished tied for seventh in the high jump after clearing 1.46m.
• Peasley also finished ninth in the pole vault, clearing 3.25m.
• Junior Ava McIntyre and Celia Kulis placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the long jump. McIntyre recorded a top mark of 5.23 meters, while Kulis posted a best leap of 5.03 meters.
• Junior Gabby Paolella tied her personal best mark in the women's shot put with a throw of 13.00m.
• Senior Ester Mokonchu finished fourth on the day in the weight throw with a mark of 17.16m.

UP NEXT: 

• The Crusaders return to action next weekend at the Patriot League Championships. Competition begins Saturday, Feb. 28, and concludes Sunday, Mar. 1.
