WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior
Emily Crovo tallied one goal and one assist, to lead the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team to a 3-1 victory over Boston College at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders improve to 15-7-1 on the season and 7-6-1 in Hockey East, while the Eagles fall to 9-11-1 overall and 7-5-1 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Holy Cross opened the scoring 5:18 into the first period on Crovo's goal, with assists from freshman
Naemi Herzig and freshman
Violet Carroll.
• Boston College tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period, when Ava Thomas scored on the power play.
• The Crusaders responded later in the second period with a power play goal from senior
Alexia Moreau. Herzig and sophomore
Hannah Deck has assists on the play.
• Senior
Charlotte Sonntag concluded the scoring early in the third period, one-timing a pass from Crovo into the net on the power play.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross now has seven Hockey East victories this year, setting a new program single-season record.
• Carroll's assist was her 13th of the year, the highest single-season total by a Crusader in the Hockey East era.
• Moreau's game-winning goal was her fourth this year, also setting a school single-season record for the Hockey East era.
• Senior
Brooke Loranger made 29 saves on the night.
• The Eagles finished the game with a 30-28 advantage in shots on goal.
