The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team returns home to take on Boston College this Friday, Jan. 9, at 6 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Eagles will be shown live on ESPN+.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 14-7-1 with a 6-6-1 mark in Hockey East play. The Crusaders' 14 total victories this season are their most in eight years, while their six Hockey East wins are tied for the most in program history. Freshman forward
Violet Carroll currently leads the team in scoring with 19 points on seven goals and 12 assists. Freshman forward
Naemi Herzig has added six goals and 10 assists for 16 points, while senior forward
Lane Lewis has 15 points on four goals and 11 assists. In net, senior goaltender
Abby Hornung stands 10-5-1 this season with a 1.51 goals against average and a .940 save percentage.
Boston College stands 9-10-1 overall and 7-4-1 in Hockey East. The Eagles have lost four straight games, and are coming off a 3-0 setback against Colgate last Saturday. Freshman forward Ava Thomas has a team-high 24 points on 11 goals and 13 assists, with junior forward Sammy Taber adding three goals and 11 assists for 14 points. In net, senior Grace Campbell owns an .927 save percentage and a 2.68 goals against average.
After the game with Boston College, Holy Cross travels to Boston University for a 4 p.m. game on Saturday, Jan. 17.
