Men’s ice hockey welcomes Air Force for two-game set

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to host Air Force for a two-game Atlantic Hockey set on Friday, Jan. 16 and Saturday, Jan. 17, both at 7 p.m. at the Hart Center Rink. Both games will be broadcast live on FloSports.

THE CRUSADERS (10-8-2, 8-2-2 AHA):
  • Holy Cross currently hold the Atlantic Hockey lead in goals scored per game (3.40), assists per game (5.90), points per game (9.30),  and faceoff win percentage (.528), is tied for the lead in goals for (68), and are second in assists (118) and points (186).
  • The Crusaders' 3.8 goals per game in Atlantic Hockey play this season is the seventh-highest mark in conference play in the nation.
  • Holy Cross has yet to win a game in the second half after playing to a tie in their opening game of 2026 and falling in the next two games by a combined score of 13-5.
  • Seven of the Crusaders' eight losses this season have come against currently ranked or receiving votes teams - RV Northeastern, No. 16 Maine (then-No. 6/8), #6 Quinnipiac, and RV Bentley.
  • Senior Jack Seymour sits in a three-way tie for 10th in the nation in plus/minus at +18 on the season. The next closest Atlantic Hockey skater is teammate senior Matt DeBoer at +11, in a three-way tie.
  • Stockfish's 222 face-off wins this season sits in second in Atlantic Hockey and 16th in the nation. His .610 success rate this season leads Atlantic Hockey.

SCOUTING AIR FORCE (10-10-2, 6-7-1 AHA):
  • Air Force sits in the middle of the pack in Atlantic Hockey with 18 points and a 6-7-1 record.
  • The Falcons opened 2026 with an 8-2 win over Michigan Tech before falling in their next three, 2-5 to Arizona State and 1-5 and 1-3 to Bentley.
  • Since their meeting in November, Air Force has gone 5-4-1 while Holy Cross has gone 3-3-1.
  • Air Force is led on offense by Nick Sajevic (4-19-23), Chris Hedden (10-11-21), and Sam Stitz (8-14-22). Goaltender Dominik Wasik has backstopped 19 of the Falcons' 22 games, posting a 2.61 goals-against average and .905 save percentage.

ALL TIME SERIES:
  • Holy Cross holds the all-time series lead at 27-24-14, dating back to 1993.
  • The Crusaders' have won 14 straight over Air Force, and are 17-2-3 in the last 22 meetings since 2016.
  • In games played in Worcester, Holy Cross leads 11-9-10 overall, and are 8-0-2 since 2016.
  • The two teams last met for a two game set in Colorado Springs Nov. 14-15. Holy Cross swept the weekend series by scores of 3-2 and 4-1.
