WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team fell to Merrimack, 5-2, Saturday night at the Hart Center Rink.

Holy Cross moves to 10-8-2, while Merrimack improves to 10-10-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Merrimack got on the board first at the 6:51 mark of the opening period.
• Senior Jack Seymour tied the game up with a power play goal at the 8:31 mark, banking the puck off a defenders skate and into the back of the net.
• Merrimack regained the lead two minutes later, and extended the lead to 3-1 with just over two minutes to play in the frame.
• The Warriors extended their lead to 4-1 with a power play goal just under halfway through the second period.
• Junior Ty Gagno cut the lead in half with his fifth goal of the season with under five minutes remaining in the middle frame, sending a one-timer off a rebound past the Merrimack netminder.
• Merrimack netted their final goal of the night with 14 minutes to play in the third period.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Freshman Danick Leroux recorded 21 saves in the contest.
• Junior Jack Stockfish led both sides with ten face-off wins and ended the night with a .769 win percentage at the dot.
• With his two assists, Kim extended his point streak to three games.
