Two members of the Holy Cross football team earned weekly honors from the Patriot League, as announced on Monday, Sept. 22. Junior linebacker
Cam Santee was selected as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman running back
Joseph Williams was named Rookie of the Week.
Santee had a strong all-around performance in Holy Cross' contest against Yale on Sept. 20, tying the team high of 13 tackles on the day while also totaling 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks and forcing a fumble. His 13 tackles were a career high.
Williams had a 64-yard reception to open the second half, leading the team in receiving yards. He also carried the ball five times for 18 yards on the ground while also totaling 83 yards on five kickoff returns.
This marks the first time that either Santee or Williams has earned a weekly accolade from the Patriot League.
The Crusaders open Patriot League action on Saturday, Sept. 27 when they travel to Fordham. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
