LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team took on Siena at Hickey Field for a non-conference night game. A late second half goal lifted the Saints over the Crusaders 2-1.

IN GOAL:

• Holy Cross: Aubrey Haesche (starter)
• Holy Cross: Meredith Zematis (L, 0-1), seven saves
• Siena: Cate Burns (W, 2-1), four saves

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Crusaders took an early lead in the first half with senior forward Olivia Perez finding junior forward Charlotte Hanchar in the box, netting her first of the season at 15:48. Siena fired back at 32:24 with a goal by Briana Neary to tie the game up 1-1.
• The Crusaders led the Saints 6-5 in shots and 4-0 in corners through 45 minutes.
• Late in the second half, Neary struck again with her second goal of the game at 85:25 for the 2-1 result.
• Siena led Holy Cross 16-15 in shots and 9-6 in shots on goal while the Crusaders had the 8-1 advantage in corners to conclude the game.

UP NEXT:

• The Crusaders (0-2-1) return home to host Syracuse (2-1) on Sunday, Aug. 24, for a 1:00 pm kickoff and Gateways First Year Orientation Event at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium in Worcester, Mass.
