WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Ella Kittredge totaled a career-high eight points on four goals and four assists, as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team defeated Colgate 19-13 at Kuzniewski Field in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament. The Crusaders improve to 10-7 overall and advance to face top-seeded Loyola (Md.) in the semifinals. The Raiders conclude the year at 9-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The score was tied at 2-2 midway through the first quarter, before Holy Cross ran off seven straight goals to take a 9-2 lead.
• The Crusaders would increase their lead to nine (12-3) early in the second quarter, before eventually taking a 13-7 advantage into halftime.
• Holy Cross remained in front by at least six goals the rest of the way to earn the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Junior
Mackenzie Creagh made a career-high of 19 saves.
• Senior
Sally Zinsner scored a team-high five goals on the afternoon.
• Senior
Isabela Miller tallied six points and two goals and four assists.
• Senior
Riley Peters finished with four goals and one assist for five points.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Miller now has 52 assists on the year, breaking the school single-season record which she had set last year with 50.
• Creagh's 19 saves set a new Patriot League Tournament single-game record.
• Holy Cross improves to 11-10 all-time in Patriot League Tournament play, including a perfect 7-0 mark for games played in Worcester.
UP NEXT:
• The Crusaders will return to action on Thursday, May 1, when they face Loyola (Md.) in the Patriot League semifinals.
• Opening draw is set for 3 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Md.
