BALTIMORE, Md. – Senior
Ella Kittredge scored a team-high four goals, but lead the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 15 Loyola (Md.) 20-10 at the Ridley Athletic Complex. The Crusaders fall to 8-7 on the season and 4-4 in the Patriot League, while the Greyhounds improve to 11-5 overall and 8-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After Loyola opened the game with an early 3-1 lead, Holy Cross scored the next two goals to tie the score at 3-3 midway through the first quarter.
• The Greyhounds netted the next three goals to pull back in front, but the Crusaders kept things close and trailed by just two (8-6) with 7:45 left in the second quarter.
• Loyola then three straight goals to take an 11-6 halftime lead.
• Holy Cross trimmed the deficit to four (11-7) early in the third quarter, but the Greyhounds scored the next nine goals and would eventually to pull away and would eventually win by 10.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Senior
Isabela Miller finished the day with two goals and one assist.
• Loyola was led by Georgia Latch with 10 points on seven goals and three assists.
UP NEXT:
• The Crusaders will return to action on Thursday, April 24, when they travel to Boston University for a 5 p.m. game.
