LOYOLA, Md. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to Loyola (Md.), 21-10, Saturday afternoon at the Ridley Athletic Complex.

Holy Cross moves to 3-10 overall and 1-6 in the Patriot League with the loss, while Loyola moves to 2-10 overall and 2-4 in the Patriot League with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Loyola got out to a quick 6-0 lead in the first quarter.
• Junior Will Messineo and freshman Andrew Ottomanelli got the Crusaders on the board on the man advantage in the second quarter, but three goals by Loyola sent the game into halftime with Loyola up 9-2.
• Messineo rounded out his hat trick in the first five minutes of the second half before senior John Mitchell netted three goals in just over three minutes.
• Sophomores Sam McDonald, Ryan Botek, and Jude Lynch scored goals in the final quarter of play, but the Crusaders ultimately fell, 21-10.

• Junior Sean Miller recorded eight saves in his first collegiate start in net. Sophomore Riley Stanton added a save in relief.
• Junior Julian Jenkins led the Crusaders with two caused turnovers.
• Sophomore Gavin Ouhrabka tied his career-high with 14 faceoff wins.

• The Crusaders will round out their Patriot League regular season slate with a trip to Hamilton, N.Y. to face Colgate on Saturday, April 19.
• Game time is set for 1 p.m.
