WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior forward
Liam McLinskey has been named a Second Team East All-American, the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced Friday evening.
This season, McLinskey recorded 54 points on 24 goals and 30 assists in 40 games for the Crusaders. His 54 points this season are the most among eastern players, third-most among all players this season, and tied for most in a single season in Holy Cross' Division I era.
The Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, First Team selection, Scoring Champion, and Hobey Baker Top 10 finalist, McLinskey led the Crusaders in every offensive category, while also leading Atlantic Hockey in goals, assists, points, points per game (1.35), and power play goals (10). His seven-game goal streak from Nov. 7 to Nov. 30 is the longest such streak in the Crusaders' Division I era.
McLinskey became the second Crusader in the Division I era to be named an AHCA All-American last season, joining Tyler McGregor who earned third team honors following the 2005-06 season, and is now the only player in Crusader history to be named twice.
