Isabela Miller and senior
Sally Zinsner both tallied seven points, as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team posted a 14-7 win over Colgate at Kuzniewski Field. The Crusaders improve to 5-2 on the season and 1-0 in the Patriot League with the victory, while the Raiders fall to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The score was tied at 2-2 after the first quarter, before Holy Cross ran off three straight goals to take a 5-2 lead.
• Colgate cut the deficit to 5-4 at halftime, then tied up the game at 5-5 early in the third quarter.
• But the Crusaders responded by scoring the next three goals to regain control, outscoring the Raiders 9-2 the rest of the way to earn the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Zinsner finished the day with five goals and two assists, while Miller totaled two goals and five assists.
• Sophomore
Annabel Brennan and senior
Ella Kittredge both tallied two goals and one assist on the afternoon.
• Junior
Mackenzie Creagh made 10 saves while allowing just seven goals, improving to 5-0 on the season.
• Colgate was led by Ella Bishara with four goals.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Miller recorded the 100th assist of her collegiate career with 3:20 left in the third quarter, to become the first player in program history with 100 career asssits.
• Holy Cross won its Patriot League opener for the second straight year, and the fifth time in the last seven seasons.
UP NEXT:
• The Crusaders will return to action on Tuesday, March 11, when they play host to Harvard at 5:30 p.m.
