WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Ella Kittredge totaled five points on three goals and two assists, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 22 Harvard 12-7 at Kuzniewski Field. The Crusaders fall to 5-3 on the season, while the Crimson improve to 4-2 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Holy Cross held an early 2-1 lead, before Harvard used a 5-1 run to go up 6-3 midway through the second quarter.
• The Crusaders responded by scoring the next two goals, trimming the deficit to 6-5 at halftime.
• The Crimson was still up by just one (7-6) late in the third quarter, before closing out the game with another 5-1 spurt to earn the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Sophomore Kate Avitabile finished the evening with two goals and one assist, while senior Isabela Miller added two assists.
• Junior Mackenzie Creagh made 10 saves in goal.
• Harvard was led by Tori Balser with three goals and one assist.
UP NEXT:
• The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday, March 15, when they play host to Lafayette at 1 p.m.
