WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to no. 5 Army, 17-4, in Patriot League action Saturday afternoon at Kuzniewski Field.

With the win, Army improves to 5-0 (2-0 PL), while Holy Cross moves to 3-5 (1-1 PL) with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Senior John Mitchell opened the scoring for both sides just under three minutes into the contest.
• Army went on a 3-0 run over the next seven minutes, before senior Michael Bonomo netted his first of the game to cut the Army lead to one going into the quarter break.
• The Black Knights went on to score 14 straight over the second and third quarters. 
• Bonomo netted two more in the fourth quarter to complete his first collegiate hat trick.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Junior JR Long made 10 saves in the contest. Junior Sean Miller made one in relief.
• Senior Luke Shoemaker led the team with three caused turnovers, while senior Matt Carbonell led with four ground ball pickups.
• The faceoff trio of freshman Harry Attell, sophomore Gavin Ouhrabka, and sophomore Tim Golden combined for ten faceoff wins.

UP NEXT:

• Holy Cross will continue their Patriot League schedule on Saturday, March 15 when they travel to Easton, Pa. to face Lafayette.
• Game time is set for 12 p.m.
