Men’s lacrosse falls to no. 17 Boston University

BOSTON, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to No. 17 Boston University, 16-4, Saturday afternoon at Nickerson Field.
 
Holy Cross moves to 3-8 (1-4 PL) with the loss, while Boston University moves to 8-2 (4-1 PL) with the win.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Holy Cross defense was stellar in the first quarter, holding the Terriers to just two goals in the opening frame.
  • Boston University picked up four more goals in the second quarter to take a 6-0 lead into the halftime break and tacked on seven in the third quarter.
  • Freshman Andrew Ottomanelli, junior Damien Ramondo, and sophomore Jon-Luke Duley got the Crusaders on the board in the fourth.
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • Junior JR Long recorded 11 saves in the contest, while junior Sean Miller tacked on one in relief.
  • Ottomanelli's two goal performance was his second of the season, and his eight goals this season lead all Crusader rookies.
  • Junior Michael Rincon led both sides with four caused turnovers and six ground balls, both of which were season-highs.
 
UP NEXT:
  • Holy Cross will return home to face Lehigh on Saturday, April 5 for their alumni game at Fitton Field.
  • Game time is set for 1 p.m.
