WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Ella Kittredge and senior
Sally Zinsner both recorded three goals and two assists, as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team defeated Lafayette 15-4 at Kuzniewski Field. The Crusaders improve to 6-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Patriot League with the victory, while the Leopards fall to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Holy Cross opened the day by running off six straight goals to take a 6-0 lead after the first quarter.
• After Lafayette got on the board early in the second quarter, the Crusaders netted the next four goals to lead 10-1 at halftime.
• Holy Cross would eventually go up by as many at 13 goals in the second half, before finally posting a 15-4 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Junior
Mackenzie Creagh made nine saves while allowing just four goals, improving to 6-1 on the season.
• Sophomore
Kate Avitabile finished the day with a career-high three goals and one assist.
• Senior
Isabela Miller added two goals and three assists, while senior
Riley Peters tallied two goals and one assist.
• Lafayette was led by Sadie Martiesian with one goal and one assist.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Miller became the 14th player in program history to score 100 career goals, hitting the century mark with her first goal of the day at the 12:10-mark of the first quarter.
UP NEXT:
• The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday, March 22, when they play host to American at 3 p.m.
