WORCESTER, Mass. — Sophomore
Matt Carlson picked up victories in both singles and doubles action, but the Holy Cross men's tennis team was defeated by Colgate 5-2 at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility. The Crusaders fall to 2-6 on the season, while the Raiders improve to 7-5 overall.
DOUBLES ACTION:
• Carlson and junior
Patrick Ling began the day with a 6-4 victory over Aidan Chung and Tim Viding at No. 2 doubles.
• Colgate picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to claim the doubles point.
SINGLES PLAY:
• Freshman
Ezequiel De la Plaza downed Benito Vlassis 7-6 (7-0), 6-4 at No. 1 singles.
• Carlson added a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Josh Israel at the No. 2 spot.
• But the Raiders won the remaining four singles matches, two of which went to three sets, to claim the overall victory.

• Holy Cross returns to action on Friday, March 21, when it faces Loyola (Md.) in West Point, N.Y.
