FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Senior
Sally Zinsner recorded a career-high nine points on six goals and three assists, to lead the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team to a 22-13 victory over Fairfield at Rafferty Stadium. The Crusaders open the season at 1-0 with the win, while the Stags begin the year at 0-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Senior
Ella Kittredge tied her career high by scoring five goals, all in the first half, while senior
Riley Peters added a career-best four goals.
• Senior
Isabela Miller and sophomore
Kate Avitabile both recorded six points on one goal and five assists.
• Junior
Mackenzie Creagh picked up the victory in goal, while making six saves.
• Fairfield was led by Kelly Haggerty with three goals and one assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Holy Cross opened the game by jumping out to a quick 5-0 lead after the first 4:15 of action.
• The Stags trimmed the margin to two (8-6) at the end of the first quarter, before the Crusaders used a 7-1 run to build a 15-7 halftime lead.
• The Crusaders would lead by at least seven goals the rest of the way, eventually posting a nine-goal victory.

• Holy Cross will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 12, when it travels to Albany for a 3 p.m. game.
