Patrick Ling won his singles match, but the Holy Cross men's tennis team was defeated by MIT 6-1 at the J.B. Carr Tennis Bubble. The Crusaders fall to 1-2 on the season, while the Engineers improve to 1-1 overall.
DOUBLES ACTION:
• Sophomore
Teddy Callery and freshman
Ezequiel De la Plaza began the day with a 7-6 victory over Grant Gallagher and SangHuyk Im at the No. 1 spot.
• MIT came back with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to claim the doubles point.
SINGLES PLAY:
• At the No. 5 spot, Ling downed Kevin Xie 6-3, 6-2.
• But the Engineers won the remaining five singles matches to claim the overall victory.
NEXT UP:
• Holy Cross returns to action on Monday, March 3, when it plays host to the College of Charleston at 11 a.m.
