SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior
Ella Kittredge scored a pair of goals, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by Brown 22-6 at the Conaty Indoor Athletic Center. The Crusaders fall to 3-1 on the season, while the Bears improve to 2-0 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Brown opened the game by jumping out to an early 4-0 lead after the first 11 minutes of action.
• Holy Cross responded with three straight goals, trimming the deficit to one (4-3) at the end of the first quarter.
• But the Bears then outscored the Crusaders 10-1 in the second quarter to take a 14-4 halftime advantage.
• The Brown lead would stay in double figures throughout the second half, with the Bears eventually winning by 16.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Senior
Isabela Miller had one goal and one assist on the evening.
• Sophomore
Anna Affolter, junior
Tory Rider and senior
Sally Zinsner also scored goals for Holy Cross.
• Freshman
Sara Knice made eight saves in her first career start.
• The Bears were led by Leah Caputo with five goals.

• The Crusaders will return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 25, when they play host to Massachusetts at 6:30 p.m.
