WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Charlotte Sonntag and freshman
Violet Carroll both scored goals, as the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team defeated Vermont 2-0 at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Crusaders improve to 13-6-1 on the season and 5-5-1 in Hockey East, while the Catamounts fall to 6-11-2 overall and 2-6-1 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After a scoreless first period, Sonntag gave Holy Cross the lead when she put home a rebound after a shot by junior
Lulu Rourke had been saved.
• Later in the second period, Carroll knocked in a pass from senior
Alexia Moreau on the power play to make the score 2-0.
• Neither team would score again, as the Crusaders earned the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Senior
Abby Hornung made 28 saves, while picking up the fourth shutout of her collegiate career.
• Rourke recorded a career-best two assists on the day.
• The Catamounts finished the game with a 28-21 advantage in shots on goal.

• The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Dec. 6, when they conclude their weekend series at Vermont at 2 p.m.
