WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Lane Lewis tallied one goal and one assist to lead the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team to a 2-1 victory over Merrimack at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders improve to 9-4-0 on the season and 2-3-0 in Hockey East, while the Warriors fall to 2-9-1 overall and 0-5-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Merrimack opened the scoring midway through the first period on a goal by Kerttu Lehmus.
• Holy Cross tied the game at 1-1 in the second period, as junior
Abby Garvin netted her first goal of the season.
• Early in the third period, Lewis put the Crusaders up 2-1 with what proved to be the game-winning goal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Senior
Abby Hornung made 23 saves for the Crusaders, while improving to 6-2-0 on the year.
• Sophomore
Amanda Aslan had the primary assist on both of Holy Cross' goals.
• The Crusaders finished the night with a 38-24 advantage in shots on goal.
• After also defeating Merrimack 2-1 on Friday night, Holy Cross moves into a tie for fifth place in the Hockey East standings with seven points.

• The Crusaders to action on Friday, Nov. 14, when they play host to Maine at 7 p.m.
