WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Zach Bubonovich set a new pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke, as the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team defeated Bryant 154-146 at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. Bubonovich was also part of the 200-yard medley relay team, which broke the pool record for the second time this season. The Crusaders improve to 2-2 on the year with the victory, while the Bulldogs fall to 2-3 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The 200-yard medley relay team of senior
Jack Greiner, Bubonovich, freshman
Andrew Villani and junior
Will Clark broke the Hart Center Pool record with their first-place time of 1:33.19.
• As an individual, Bubonovich won both the 100-yard breaststroke (56.79, Hart Center Pool record) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:08.10).
• Greiner added three first-place finishes, in the 200-yard backstroke (1:53.16), the 200-yard butterfly (1:52.02) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:54.19).
• Sophomore
Peter Mottolese placed first in two events, winning the 100-yard freestyle (47.03) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.20).
• Junior
Austin Cutcher finished in first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:53.45).
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 8, when it takes part in the Worcester City Championship.
