Men's hockey travels to no. 8 Quinnipiac

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to travel to No. 8 Quinnipiac to complete their season series against the Bobcats on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Puck drop at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, Conn. is set for 5 p.m. and will broadcast live on ESPN+ and TSN+.

THE CRUSADERS (9-5-1, 7-1-1 AHA):
  • Holy Cross enters the week on a nine-game unbeaten streak.
  • The Crusaders earned their third-straight series sweep last weekend, downing Alaska Anchorage in back-to-back nights.
  • Seven different Crusaders scored a goal and 13 recorded at least a point in the weekend series.
  • In their six games so far in the month of November, Holy Cross has outscored their opponents 27-8.
  • Junior Connor Mackenzie backstopped game one, making 21 stops and allowing two goals to finish the day with a 2.00 goals-against average and .913 save percentage. Freshman Danick Leroux made 28 stops in his first collegiate shutout on Sunday afternoon, as the Crusaders rounded out the weekend set with a 1-0 win.
  • With their four point performances last weekend, seniors Michael Abgrall and Matt DeBoer moved into a tie for third place in Atlantic Hockey with 13 points each on the season, while Deboer's three game-winning goals are tied for the league lead.
  • Junior Will Elias sits in third for points among Atlantic Hockey defensemen with 10, and second among all skaters with nine assists this season.
  • Sophomore Owain Johnston sits in third among Atlantic Hockey skaters with 28 blocked shots through 15 games, averaging 1.87 blocked shots per game.  
  • Seymour's +18 rating this season leads Atlantic Hockey and the nation.
  • Junior Jack Stockfish's 165 faceoff wins leads Atlantic Hockey and sits in eighth in the nation this season. 

SCOUTING NO. 8 QUINNIPIAC (9-3-2, 3-1-0 ECAC):
  • Since their visit to the Hart Center Rink in mid October, the Bobcats are 5-2-1.
  • Quinnipiac defeated the likes of St. Lawrence, Clarkson, No. 12 Boston University, New Hampshire, and Brown, and enter Wednesday's matchup on a four-game win streak.
  • Quinnipiac is led on offense by Chris Pelosi (9-6-15) and Ethan Wyttenbach (6-10-16). 
  • Junior netminder Matej Marinov has started ten of Quinnipiac's 14 games, posting a 7-1-2 record with a 2.06 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.

ALL TIME SERIES:
  • The two squads teams last met on Oct. 21 for the Crusaders' home opener. Quinnipiac prevailed in the matchup, 4-1.
  • Senior Jack Seymour scored the lone goal for Holy Cross in the second period, while senior Louden Hogg made 40 saves in net.
  • Quinnipiac leads the all-time series that dates back to Nov. 21, 2000, 26-3-4.
