The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team will be back on the ice when it plays host to Assumption on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m. in its final non-conference game of the season. The contest will be shown live on ESPN+.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 11-5-1 with a 4-4-1 mark in Hockey East play. The Crusaders are coming off a 3-2 victory at New Hampshire last Saturday, and also defeated the Wildcats in a shootout on Friday after playing to a 1-1 tie. Freshman forward
Violet Carroll currently leads the team in scoring with 17 points on six goals and 11 assists. Freshman forward
Naemi Herzig has added five goals and seven assists for 12 points, while senior forward
Lane Lewis has 12 points on three goals and nine assists. In net, senior goaltender
Abby Hornung stands 8-3-1 this season with a 1.51 goals against average and a .941 save percentage.
Assumption enters the game with an overall record of 7-8-1 and a 7-4-1 mark in the New England Women's Hockey Alliance. Last weekend, the Greyhounds dropped a pair of close games to St. Anselm by scores of 4-3 and 2-1. Junior forward Kayla McGaffigan leads the team in scoring with seven goals and six assists for 13 points, while junior forward Ava McGaffigan and junior defender Justina Valentiniboth have 11 points on two goals and nine assists. Junior goaltender Jayden Weiser stands 6-7-1 with a 2.43 goals against average and a .927 save percentage.
After the game with Assumption, Holy Cross will play play host to Boston University at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
