WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team shutout Alaska Anchorage, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at the Hart Center Rink.

With the win, Holy Cross improves to 9-5-1, while Alaska Anchorage moves to 3-9-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Neither team as able to find the back of the net in the first period, with the Holy Cross holding a slim lead in shots, 10-9.
• Senior Timothy Heinke netted what would eventually stand as the game-winning goal 56 seconds into the second period. Flipping a stretch pass by senior Michael Abgrall past a Seawolves defender, Heinke sent a wrist shot just inside the far post for the score.
• Holy Cross was able to kill off a power play opportunity for the Seawolves halfway through the final period and 2:17 of 6-on-5 play to end the game to secure the 1-0 win.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Freshman Danick Leroux recorded 28 saves, 13 of which came in the third period, in his third win of the season and first collegiate shutout.
• Junior Jack Stockfish was nearly perfect at the faceoff dot, recording 15 wins on 19 attempts, as Holy Cross won 45 of the 71 draws in the matchup.
• Heinke's game-winner was the second of his career.

UP NEXT:

• Holy Cross will hit the road to face No. 9 Quinnipiac on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
• Puck drop is set for 5 p.m. at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, Conn.
