Men’s ice hockey to host Alaska Anchorage for second time in program history

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to to host Alaska Anchorage for a two-game non conference set for just the second time in program history. Game time at the Hart Center Rink is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23. Both games will be streamed on FloHockey and simulcast on NESN+.

THE CRUSADERS (7-5-1, 7-1-1 AHA):
  • Holy Cross enters the week on a seven-game unbeaten streak.
  • The Crusaders earned their second-straight series sweep last weekend, downing Air Force in back-to-back nights.
  • 11 different Crusaders recorded at least a point in the weekend series, led by senior Jack Seymour's three goals.
  • In their four games so far in the month of November, Holy Cross has outscored their opponents 18-6.
  • Junior Connor Mackenzie backstopped game one, making a season-high 33 stops and allowing two goals to finish the day with a 2.00 goals-against average and .943 save percentage. Freshman Danick Leroux made 23 stops and allowed one power play goal in Saturday's 4-1 win.
  • Leroux's 1.00 goals-against and .958 save percentage was second in the league among netminders this weekend.
  • Elias was named Atlantic Hockey Defenseman of the Week for his play in the series, finishing the weekend +4 with three assists and three blocked shots. Elias assisted on senior Jack Seymour's opening score and tallied two blocked shots and a +1 rating. In Saturday's 4-1 win, Elias assisted on junior Jack Stockfish's game winning goal, and sophomore Noah Eyre's empty net score to extend the lead to 3-1, finishing the night +3.
  • Elias' three assists tied for second in the league for the weekend, and were the most points in a single weekend by a Holy Cross defenseman this season. His +4 rating tied for the league-lead with fellow Crusaders Jack Seymour and Matt DeBoer.
  • Seymour's +16 rating this season leads Atlantic Hockey and places him second in the nation, just +2 behind the leader in Minnesota-Duluth's Max Plante.
  • Junior Jack Stockfish's 139 faceoff wins leads Atlantic Hockey and is tied for ninth in the nation this season.

SCOUTING ALASKA ANCHORAGE (3-7-0):
  • The Seawolves come to Worcester at the tail end of a nine-day East Coast trip where they are scheduled to play six games.
  • The independent Anchorage team started the trip at Atlantic Hockey opponent Bentley, splitting the two-game set in Waltham, Mass., before shutting out independent Stonehill, 4-0, on Tuesday. The Seawolves fell to the ECAC's Brown on Wednesday, 5-2.
  • Anchorage is led on offense by Judah Makway (3-1-4) and Ryan Johnson (1-5-6).
  • Sophomore netminder Tyler Krivtsov has started six of Anchorage's nine games, posting a 3-3 record with a 3.45 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.

ALL TIME SERIES:
  • The two squads have met just one time in program history.
  • Alaska Anchorage prevailed in the meeting at the Hart Center Rink, 5-2, on Nov. 17, 1989.
