WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team opened its season at the Head of the Snake Saturday morning at Lake Quinsigamond.
 
RESULTS:

• The Holy Cross 4+ 'B' won the Women's Collegiate 4+ with a time of 16:55.7. The Holy Cross 4+ 'A' finished second in the 16-boat field with a time of 16:59.2.
• The Holy Cross 8+ 'A' placed fourth in the Women's Collegiate 8+ with a time of 15:07.9, just .8 seconds behind third-place Wellesley. The Holy Cross 'B' finished 13th in the 25-boat field with a time of 16:22.6.

FROM HEAD COACH ANDREA LANDRY:

• "It's been a busy first month of training and the team is responding well to what we've introduced this fall. Coaches are really impressed with the way in which the women put the pieces together in this first weekend of racing."
• "Our freshmen class has made their mark filling seats across all our crews. Great things ahead. We'll see you on the Charles River in two weeks."

WHAT'S NEXT:

• Holy Cross will travel to Boston, Mass. on Saturday, Oct. 18 for the Head of the Charles.
