ORONO, Maine. - The Holy Cross men's ice hockey was shutout by Maine, 6-0, Saturday night at Alfond Arena.

Holy Cross moves to 0-3-0 with the result, while Maine improves to 2-0-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Maine got on the board first, netting a goal on a four-on-four opportunity five minutes into the opening frame.
• The Black Bears extended their lead to 3-0 in the second period, netting goals at the 14:51 and 8:42 marks.
• Three goals for Maine in the third brought the score to its final of 6-0.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Freshman Danick Leroux made 14 saves in his debut.
• Junior Jack Stockfish led the Crusaders with ten face-off wins.
• Senior Joe Solimine tied for the game lead with four blocked shots.

UP NEXT:

• Holy Cross will continue their road trip next week when they open their Atlantic Hockey schedule at Mercyhurst.
• Puck drop in Erie, Pa. is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
