HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Neither team was able to score in the second period, with senior netminder Thomas Gale recording 18 saves in the frame.
  • Omaha tied the game up at 2-2 just under four minutes later, before junior Timothy Heinke gave the Crusaders the 3-2 lead with just over five minutes left to play.
  • Omaha tied it at 3-3 shortly after, forcing the overtime period, which the Mavericks scored 1:37 into to win the game.
