Holy Cross edged by Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Senior forward Caleb Kenney scored a season-high 23 points and pulled down six rebounds, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Bucknell 86-82 at Sojka Pavilion. The Crusaders fall to 10-8 on the year and 2-3 in the Patriot League, while the Bison improve to 7-11 overall and 3-2 in the conference.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross made 46.8 percent of its field goals, 42.3 percent of its three-pointers and 81.3 percent of its free throws on the night, while committing just seven turnovers.
• Bucknell connected on 46.8 percent of its shots from the floor and 47.1 percent of its attempts from three-point range, while hitting a season-high 16 shots from long range.
• Junior forward Jaiden Feroah finished with a season-best 16 points and four rebounds, while sophomore guard DeAndre Williams added a career-high 14 points, five assists and four boards.
• Sophomore forward Joe Nugent posted his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman guard Max Green totaled 14 points, seven assists and five boards.
• Josh Bascoe led the Bison with 17 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Crusaders started the game hot, jumping out to a 20-9 lead after the first 7:11 of action. 
• Holy Cross was still up by seven (28-21) at the 8:26-mark, when Bucknell used a 15-3 run to pull in front.
• The game was eventually tied at 40-40 heading into the locker room at halftime.
• The score stayed close early in the second half, and the Crusaders were up by two (63-61) with 11 minutes remaining.
• The Bison then scored 10 straight points to take the lead, and later held a nine-point advantage (82-73) with 1:43 on the clock.
• Holy Cross refused to go quietly, scoring the next six points to make it a three-point game with less than a minute to play.
• But on the next possession, the Crusaders were called for a foul on a three-point attempt as the shot clock expired, and Bucknell would hold on to win by four.
