CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior forward
Evan Jones scored the 20th goal of his collegiate career, as the Holy Cross men's soccer team tied Harvard 1-1 at Jordan Field. The Crusaders now stand 1-1-1 on the season, while the Crimson opens the year at 0-0-1 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Jones opened the scoring at the 65:24 mark, when he took a pass from senior defender
Connor Bagdon and beat a defender in the box before scoring from 10 yards out.
• Harvard tied the game up at the 72:28 mark, as Dylan Tellado knocked in a rebound to make the score 1-1.
• Both teams had good scoring chances down the stretch, but could not convert as the game ended in a draw.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Harvard finished the night with a 15-6 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
• Senior goalkeeper
Josh Tubbs made six saves on the night, including a key stop in the 89th minute to preserve the tie.
• Jones becomes just the 10th played in program history with 20 career goals scored.

• Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 7, when it heads to UMass Lowell for a 6 p.m. game.
