Men's lacrosse falls short against Le Moyne in season finale

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to Le Moyne, 10-9, in its season finale Thursday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

With the win, Le Moyne finishes their season 3-8, while the Crusaders finish 2-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Freshman Jude Lynch opened the scoring with his eighth goal of the season, before sophomore Will Messineo gave the Crusaders a 2-1 lead going into the quarter break with a man-up goal.
  • Le Moyne book-ended a three-goal run by the Crusaders in the second quarter that saw goals from sophomore William Stahl, freshman Bo Webster, and Messineo.
  • Lynch opened the second half with his second goal of the game, before Le Moyne picked up two goals. The Crusaders closed the third frame with a three-goal run that saw goals from senior Matt Major, junior John Mitchell, and freshman Luca Ward.
  • Le Moyne held the Crusaders scoreless in the final quarter of play, scoring five goals to mount the comeback win.
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • Senior Connor DePiero finished the day 11-23 (47.8%) at the faceoff X, picking up a team-leading four ground balls along the way.
  • Senior Dawson Friers recorded five saves in his 60 minutes work.
UP NEXT:
  • The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team will return to the field in spring 2025.
