The Holy Cross football team has announced its five captains for the 2024 season: quarterback Joe Pesansky, running back Jordan Fuller, center Christo Kelly, safety Curtis Harris-Lopez and linebacker Frankie Monte. 

The five Crusader captains were recognized on-field prior to Holy Cross' Spring Game on Saturday, April 13.

"I believe being voted captain by your teammates is the biggest honor any athlete can receive," said Holy Cross football head coach Dan Curran. "The five individuals that were voted captain embody everything we look for in a Holy Cross football player: They're passionate, hardworking, tough and unselfish. I'm very excited for this group to have the opportunity to lead the team for the 2024 season."

Pesansky has appeared in 18 career games for the Crusaders, with two starts at quarterback. During the 2023 season, he made his first career start in a 49-47 victory at Fordham on Oct. 28, and completed 20 of 33 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns. He is a member of the Holy Cross Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Fuller was an All-American and All-Patriot League first team selection in 2023, becoming a two-time All-Patriot League honoree. He won the Agganis-Zimman Award as the top player in New England after leading the nation in 2023 with 19 total touchdowns, including a school-record 18 rushing touchdowns. Fuller is the program's all-time leader in career rushing touchdowns with 40. He is a member of the Holy Cross Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Kelly started 10 games at center for Holy Cross in 2023; he centered one of the top offensive lines in all of FCS with Holy Cross ranking in the top 10 nationally in rushing offense (third, 264.2 yards per game), total offense (fourth, 466.6 yards per game), and scoring offense (sixth, 36.9 points per game). Kelly is the vice president of the Holy Cross Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Harris-Lopez was one of the team's top defensive backs during the 2023 season, ranking third on the team in total tackles (65) and tackles for loss (4.0) while tying for the team lead in pass breakups (four). He started in nine games at safety during the 2023 season. 

Monte started all 11 games for the Crusaders at linebacker in 2023. He ranked second on the team with 66 tackles, including a pair of sacks. He additionally hurried the quarterback four times and broke up two passes.
