  • Aided by a pair of Army errors, junior third baseman Brendan Jones came around to score and bring the Crusaders within 3-1 in the bottom of the second.
  • The Black Knights led off the third inning with their third homer of the day, and a sac fly extended the lead to 5-1.
  • Army used a six-run fifth to extend the lead to 11-1.
  • In the sixth, junior first baseman Chris Baillargeon was hit by a pitch and freshman designated hitter Braden Connors doubled to put runners on second and third. Freshman second baseman Alex Sandell then singled to right to bring the Crusaders within 11-3.
  • Army had a sac fly in the seventh before scoring three runs in the eighth to earn the run-rule victory.
DUE UP:
  • Holy Cross hits the road for the next seven contests, beginning with a three-game Patriot League series at Lafayette.
  • First pitch of a doubleheader on Saturday, April 20 is set for noon.
