Holy Cross knocks off Lehigh 13-11

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Sally Zinsner tied her career high with five goals scored, as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team defeated Lehigh 13-11 at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Crusaders improve to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the Patriot League with the win, while the Mountain Hawks fall to 7-5 on the season and 3-3 in the conference.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Junior Isabela Miller finished the day with a team-best six points on one goal and five assists.
• Senior Lauren Drillock added four points on three goals and one assist.
• Senior Tori Cini made eight saves in goal.
• Lehigh was led by Gabby Schneider with four goals and three assists.
• Holy Cross finished the game with a 30-28 advantage in shots and a 16-12 edge in draw controls.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Mountain Hawks opened the game by jumping out to a 4-2 lead with 9:21 left in the second quarter. 
• The Crusaders scored the next three goals to take the lead, and the score was eventually tied 6-6 at halftime.
• After Lehigh pulled back in front 7-6, Holy Cross closed out the third quarter with a 6-1 spurt to take a 12-8 advantage. 
• Zinsner put the Crusaders up by five (13-8) with 9:09 left in the fourth quarter, and Holy Cross held off the Mountain Hawks down the stretch to win by two.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Holy Cross now has 10 wins on the season, reaching double figures in victories for just the eighth time in program history.
• The Crusaders' five Patriot League victories this year are tied for the second-most in school history.
• Holy Cross defeated Lehigh for the first time since 2014, snapping a nine-game losing streak against the Mountain Hawks.
• The Crusaders now have 111 assists on the year as a team, the most in program history.

UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Wednesday, April 17, when it travels to Army West Point for a 6 p.m. game.
