HAMILTON, N.Y. – Junior
Isabela Miller totaled a game-high six points on two goals and four assists, as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team defeated Colgate 15-13 at Andy Kerr Stadium. The Crusaders improve to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the Patriot League with the win, while the Raiders fall to 0-6 on the season and 0-1 in the conference.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Junior
Sally Zinsner scored a team-high four goals on the day, while freshman
Annabel Brennan tied her career high with three goals.
• Junior
Ella Kittredge added two goals and two assists, and senior
Lauren Drillock finished with one goal and three assists.
• Colgate was led by Kyra Lucey with three goals and two assists.
• Holy Cross finished the game with a 31-26 advantage in shots, while the Raiders held a 19-12 edge in draw controls.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was close early on, and the Crusaders held a 5-4 lead with 11:32 left in the second quarter.
• Colgate then ran off four straight goals to take an 8-5 halftime lead.
• Holy Cross responded with eight unanswered goals in the third quarter, and went on to take a 15-9 advantage with 8:40 remaining in the fourth quarter.
• The Raiders finished out the game with four late goals to make the final score look respectable.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The Crusaders have now won four straight games, good for their longest winning streak since 2012.
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Saturday, March 16, when it travels to Lafayette for an 11 a.m. game.
