Men’s hockey falls to AIC in Atlantic Hockey Semifinals game two

WORCESTER, Mass. – Men's ice hockey was shutout by AIC, 3-0, Saturday night at the Hart Center Rink in game two of the Atlantic Hockey semifinal round, forcing a win-or-go-home game three.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • AIC took the 1-0 lead with 6:25 remaining in the first period.
  • The Yellowjackets scored 21 seconds into their first power play opportunity of the night in the second period.
  • The Crusaders went on to kill off seven minutes of AIC power play time in the second period, including a major after a lengthy review.
  • AIC iced the game with an empty net goal with 1:02 remaining in the third period.
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • Senior Jason Grande recorded 22 saves in the loss, while AIC's Nils Wallstrom made 32 in the win.
  • AIC recorded 17 blocked shots, led by Brett Callahan, who had five.
  • Holy Cross won 36 faceoffs to AIC's 32.

  • The two teams will meet again tomorrow, Sunday, March 17 at 5 p.m.
