WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior forward
Caleb Kenney totaled 17 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Colgate 77-58 at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders fall to 9-21 overall and 6-11 in the Patriot League with the loss, while the Raiders improve to 21-9 on the season and 15-2 in the conference.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross made just 39.3 percent of its field goal attempts and 27.3 percent of its three-pointers on the night.
• Colgate was able to knock down 53.4 percent of its shots from the floor and 42.1 percent of its attempts from long range, while committing just four turnovers.
• Senior guard
Joe Octave posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore guard
Will Batchelder scored 12 points.
• Keegan Records led the Raiders with 17 points and eight rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Colgate started the game by jumping out to a quick 6-0 lead, and went on to extend the margin to 15 (25-10) with 8:51 left in the first half.
• The Raiders were still up by 15 (30-15) at the 5:13-mark, before Holy Cross closed out the half with a 10-5 spurt to make the score 35-25 heading into the locker room.
• The Crusaders started the second half by making their first four shots, trimming the deficit to five (39-34) with 17:40 left to play.
• But Colgate responded with a 17-2 run over the next 5:10 to take a 20-point lead (56-36).
• Holy Cross would get no closer than 16 points the rest of the way, as the Raiders went on to post a 19-point victory.

• The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, March 2, when they travel to Boston University for their regular season finale at 12 p.m.
