Here is a look at this week's most noteworthy moments in Holy Cross Athletics:
* The men's indoor track and field team had its best finish ever at the Patriot League Championship by coming in fifth, with senior
Mike Mazzocca (60-meter hurdles, 7.93 seconds) and junior
Brian Fennelly (heptathlon, 4,903 points) both breaking their own school records.
* Women's swimming and diving senior
Greta Walting finished in fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Patriot League Championship in a time of 1:02.66.
* Junior
Sean Scanlon hit a three-run homer in the 10th inning to lift the baseball team to a 13-10 victory over No. 24 Kansas State on Saturday, for its first win over a ranked opponent since 2018.
* Women's basketball went 2-0 last week with a 58-47 overtime win at Bucknell and a 71-63 victory over Navy, as senior
Bronagh Power-Cassidy averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
* Men's basketball senior
Bo Montgomery averaged 22.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two games last week, while hitting eight of 10 shots from three-point range.
* Senior
Lauren Drillock and junior
Ella Kittredge both scored four goals as the women's lacrosse team defeated New Hampshire 18-7 on Saturday.
* Women's track and field placed sixth at the Patriot League Championship, with junior
Ella Grey finishing third overall in the 60-meter hurdles (8.63 seconds).
* The men's swimming and diving team established 15 program records at the Patriot League Championship, while its eighth place finish was its best since 2016-2017.
* Softball freshman
Ava Gambichler went three for four with a double, an RBI and a steal during game two of the season-opening doubleheader at Central Connecticut on Monday.
