WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross Athletics has announced the hiring of David Heimerdinger as the department's Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Game Operations. 

Heimerdinger joins the Crusaders from the United States Air Force Academy, where he served as the Assistant Stadium Manager for Falcon Stadium since 2021. In that role, he prepared and operated various systems within Falcon Stadium for all NCAA Division I football and lacrosse games, in addition to the annual commencement ceremony. He also contributed to the design, planning, and construction of the Kucera Legacy Center at Falcon Stadium.

"I am extremely excited to get started with Holy Cross Athletics," Heimerdinger said. "From top to bottom, this is a first-class organization that strives to do the best for their student athletes, as well as the Worcester community. I'm thrilled to be able to join the team here on The Hill! Go Cross Go!" 

Before his time with the United States Air Force Academy, Heimerdinger spent several years in Kentucky. From 2019 to 2021, he was the Stadium Operations Manager for the Bowling Green Hot Rods, the High-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Prior to that, he worked with the Lexington Legends, beginning as an Operations Intern from 2016 to 2017 before being elevated to Operations Supervisor, a role he held from 2017 to 2019.

Heimerdinger earned his Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of Kentucky in 2018.
