Lauren Drillock and junior
Ella Kittredge both scored four goals as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team defeated New Hampshire 18-7 at Wildcat Stadium. The Crusaders improve to 2-2 on the season with the win, while the Wildcats fall to 2-2 overall.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross finished the day with a 39-18 advantage in shots and a 21-9 edge in draw controls.
• Junior
Sally Zinsner recorded a team-best five points on three goals and two assists.
• Junior
Isabela Miller tallied two goals and one assist, while sophomore
Racheli Levy-Smith and junior
Riley Peters added two goals each.
• Senior
Tori Cini earned the win in goal, making six saves.
• Liv Dunn led New Hampshire with three goals and two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was close early on, with the score being tied at 4-4 with 26 seconds left in the first quarter.
• The Crusaders then ran off 10 straight goals to take a commanding 14-4 halftime lead.
• Drillock, Kittredge, Miller and Peters all scored two goals during that run.
• Holy Cross would lead by at least eight goals the rest of way, eventually posting an 11-goal victory.
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 27, when it travels to Massachusetts for a 3 p.m. game.
