WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The Holy Cross baseball team couldn't contain William & Mary, falling in the second game of the weekend series, 8-4, on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Plumeri Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Holy Cross broke through first in the top of the third. Junior left fielder Connor Cooney drew a one-out walk and advanced to third after sophomore right fielder Jack Toomey reached on a fielder's choice; after Toomey stole second, junior designated hitter Chris Baillargeon hit a two-run single to make it a 2-0 game.
- Senior right-hander Alex Bryant pitched four no-hit innings to begin the game for the Crusaders.
- William & Mary stormed out to a 6-2 lead after a six-run fifth inning, and made it a 7-2 game after a passed ball in the sixth.
- After junior shortstop Jimmy King and junior first baseman Sean Scanlon reached on a pair of walks, Toomey drove in a pair of runs to bring the Crusaders within 7-4.
- The Tribe used an RBI single in the seventh to build an 8-4 lead.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Freshmen Thomas Skrobe and Lion Gardiner made their collegiate debuts on the mound on Saturday; Gardiner pitched a clean sheet in the eighth for Holy Cross.
DUE UP:
- The Crusaders and Tribe round out the three-game series on Sunday, Feb. 18.
- First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
