WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team hosted New Hampshire (UNH) for game one of two on the weekend to conclude the season series. The Crusaders were defeated by the Wildcats 4-2.

The Wildcats scored early in the first period but the Crusaders battled back with a goal by freshman forward Lulu Rourke at 18:59 to end the opening frame with a 1-1 result. She was assisted by fellow freshman forward Emily Crovo. UNH entered the second period with back-to-back goals just five minutes into action. The Crusaders answered with a goal by the captain, senior forward Lilly Feeney at 9:40 to close the gap to a one-goal deficit. She was assisted by Rourke and Crovo. The Wildcats scored an empty net goal after Holy Cross pulled the goalie for the 4-2 win.

Senior goalie Madison Beck was in net for the Crusaders making a total of 27 saves in the outing.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• UNH scored at 4:16 in the first period. Rourke equalized at 18:59.
• The Wildcats netted back-to-back goals at 5:07 and 6:18 to take a 3-1 lead. The Crusaders replied with a goal by Feeney at 9:40 to make it a 3-2 game.
• UNH scored an empty net goal at 18:12 for the 4-2 win.

• Holy Cross continue its two game series with the Wildcats on Saturday, Feb.17 with a road game at 2:00 p.m. in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex.
