The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns to action on Friday, Nov. 8, when it travels to Rhode Island for a 7 p.m. game. The contest between the Crusaders and the Rams will be shown live on ESPN+.

Holy Cross stands 0-1 so far this year, after falling at Wisconsin 85-61 in its season opener. Sophomore forward Gabe Warren led the team with a career-high 23 points on nine of 13 shooting from the field. Sophomore guard DeAndre Williams added 11 points, while freshman guard Max Green tallied seven points, three assists and three steals. 

The Crusaders are in their second year under head coach Dave Paulsen, and are coming off a 2023-2024 season in which they went 10-23 overall and 6-12 in the Patriot League. 

Rhode Island owns a 1-0 mark on the year, after defeating Fairfield 96-58 on Monday. Senior guard Sebastian Thomas led the team with 18 points and seven assists, while senior guard Jaden House added 16 points. Freshman forward Tyonne Farrell (14 points), junior center Javonte Brown (11 points), sophomore guard Cam Estevez (10 points) and senior forward David Green (10 points) also scored in double figures.

The Rams are coming off a 2023-2024 campaign in which they went 12-20 overall and tied for 10th in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 6-12 mark in league play.

After the game with Rhode Island, Holy Cross will take part in the College Hill Classic in Providence, R.I., from Nov. 15-17.
