Holy Cross takes down Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman guard Tyler Boston scored a career-high 18 points to lead the Holy Cross men's basketball team to a 73-65 victory over Brown on the second day of the College Hill Classic at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Crusaders improve to 2-2 on the season with the win, while the Bears fall to 1-3 overall.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross made 44.6 of its field goal attempts, 47.6 percent of its three-pointers and 92.9 percent of its free throws on the night.
• Brown connected on 41.3 percent of its shots from the floor and held a 39-32 rebounding advantage, but only made 20.7 percent of its attempts from three-point range.
• Sophomore forward Joe Nugent finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, while freshman guard Max Green scored 15 points.
• Sophomore guard Kahlil Singleton added nine points, and junior forward Jaiden Feroah tallied eight points and 10 rebounds. 
• The Bears were led by Kino Lilly with 24 points.

 HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was close throughout a first half that featured two ties and five lead changes. 
• The Crusaders led by as many as six points, before eventually taking a 33-30 advantage into the locker room.
• Holy Cross maintained a small edge early in the second half, before using a 10-4 run to go up by 12 (54-42) with 10 minutes left to play.
• Brown responded with a 20-10 spurt to trim the margin to two (64-62) with 3:49 remaining.
• But the Crusaders scored the next eight points, with six of them coming from Boston, to put the game away.
 
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 17, when it faces New Hampshire at 3:30 p.m. in its final game of the College Hill Classic.
