WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team hosted New Hampshire for its CrossCheck Awareness game on Friday night. A close game resulted in 3-2 overtime loss for the Crusaders.

BETWEEN THE PIPES:

• Holy Cross: Abby Hornung (L, 2-3), 33 saves
• New Hampshire: Noemi Martinez (W, 2-0-1), 20 saves

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• In the first period, New Hampshire got on the board late in the period with a goal at 16:56 netted by Sara Boucher.
• Midway through the second period, senior forward Mackenzie King tied the game 1-1 putting in a great pass from sophomore forwards Manny Gendron and Emily Crovo at 13:46. The Wildcats reclaimed the lead with Brooke Hammer converting on the power-play at 18:33.
• In the third period, junior assistant captain Alexia Moreau netted the equalizer at 14:42 scoring on the power-play. She was assisted by defenders Hannah Deck and Carmen Elliott. Moreau's goal forced the game into overtime.
• The Wildcats scored 1:15 seconds into overtime to take the 3-2 victory over the Crusaders.
• New Hampshire led Holy Cross 36-22 in shots on goal while the Crusaders had the 33-19 advantage in face-offs to conclude the game. 

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE: 

• King netted her second and Moreau scored her fourth goal of the season.
• This is the fourth overtime game of the year.

• The Crusaders continue their series with the Wildcats on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 6:00 pm. at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex in Durham, N.H.
